Return and Refund Policy

This Return and Refund Policy applies to purchases made from Makoto Katana, owned and operated by:

1. Overview

At Pro Katana, we take pride in the craftsmanship of our handmade physical products. Due to the nature of handmade goods, specific return and cancellation conditions apply. Please review this policy carefully before placing your order.

2. Order Cancellation Policy (6-Hour Window)

If you made an error while placing your order:

  • You must contact us within 6 hours of placing the order.
  • Requests must be sent to service@makotoswords.com

After 6 hours, production and crafting may begin.

Once an item has entered the crafting or production process, the order cannot be canceled or refunded.

Custom-made or personalized products cannot be canceled once crafting has started.

3. Return Eligibility (20-Day Window)

You may request a return within 20 days of delivery if:

  • You are not satisfied with the product, or
  • The item arrives damaged or incorrect

Return Conditions:

  • Item must be unused
  • Item must be in original condition
  • Item must be in original packaging
  • All accessories, manuals, and included materials must be returned

We reserve the right to deny returns that do not meet these conditions.

4. Damaged or Incorrect Items

If you receive a damaged or incorrect product:

  • Contact us as soon as possible, and within 24 to 48 hours of delivery
  • Provide photo and/or video proof
  • All claims must still be submitted within 20 days of delivery

If verified, we will:

  • Provide a replacement, or
  • Issue a full refund

We will cover return shipping costs only in cases of verified damage or incorrect shipment.

5. Non-Returnable Items

  • Custom-made or personalized items
  • Items already crafted after the 6-hour cancellation window
  • Clearance or final sale items
  • Items showing signs of use or damage not caused during shipping

6. Refund Processing

Once your returned item is received and inspected:

  • Refunds will be issued to the original payment method only
  • Processing time: 7–15 business days after approval
  • Please allow up to 15 business days for warehouse inspection

We do not charge restocking fees.

Return shipping costs are the customer’s responsibility unless the return is due to verified damage or incorrect shipment.

We cannot issue refunds for items that are not received at our warehouse.

7. Return Process

  1. Email us at service@makotoswords.com with your order number.
  2. Our support team will provide return instructions.
  3. Securely repackage the item in its original packaging.
  4. Ship the item to the address provided by our support team.

Failure to follow return instructions may delay processing.

8. PayPal Disputes & Chargebacks

We strongly encourage customers to contact our customer support team before opening a PayPal dispute or chargeback.

Opening a dispute without first contacting us may delay resolution and affect eligibility for streamlined return processing.

We are committed to resolving issues quickly and fairly.

9. Governing Law

This Return and Refund Policy is governed by the laws of the State of California, United States.

10. Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to update or modify this policy at any time.

When significant changes are made:

  • We will update the “Last Updated” date
  • Changes will be posted on our website
  • Customers may be notified via website notice or email
